Is it possible that a plane connects to the pad through thermal relief traces (see image)?
It would make soldering much easier, since the heat does not flow away.
Sure you can set this up in the Rules. There is a button at the top left of the Board editor (“Rules”), where you can set up global rules for the Planes:
Additionally you could use per-plane rules when creating the planes.

I just enabled the plugin to do this.
You can also right click on the plane itself and choose “Edit Plane” where you can uncheck “From Rules” so you can customize place features separately from others, including thermal relief.
